Wednesday, 22 November 2006

ImageThe sensation reggaeton duo, Wisin & Yandel continue their upward path, obtaining the second position in the Billboard ranking for the most Latin albums sold this week. One week after launching their most recent production LOS VAQUEROS, a compilation of songs featuring artists under their newly formed label W&Y Records, they reaffirm their stature as seasoned music industry entrepreneurs. The CD and DVD, LOS VAQUEROS contains 22 tracks and includes collaborations from such artists as Tony Dize, Franco “El Gorilla”, “El Tio” and Gadiel, Yandel's brother. The first promotional track Pegao, has already taken over the airwaves and clubs and is expected to become another preferred hit for the industry and fans alike.

Their previous production PAL’ MUNDO, also continues to maintain a solid position in the charts; after 52 weeks it still ranks #10. This week, it received the RIAA Gold certification. The song “Pam Pam” from this production, obtained the #1 position in the MTV3 most watched videos. Wisin & Yandel continue on their promotional tour, which last weekend took them to Ecuador, where they presented shows in Quito, Guayaquil and Cuencas. Wisin & Yandel were the only artists performing and yet thousand of fans waited outside the Coliseum’s doors for hours to get seats for the shows. Some 20,000 plus fans were able to get in, but thousands of others were forced to stay outside due space limitations.

“We are very fortunate to have the support and love of our fans and feel truly blessed”, stated the energetic duo. “This only makes us work harder to provide our fans the quality product they are expecting from us," W&Y concluded. Wisin & Yandel are in Los Angeles this week with the artists under their label, Tony Dize, Franco El Gorilla, El Tio and Gadial conducting promotional activities to promote the new album.
